Why most counters insist on a credit card
International brands and airport desks use the credit card for one thing: a pre-authorisation, a hold of several hundred to several thousand euros that stays blocked during the rental and covers the insurance excess. A debit card cannot always take such a hold, and prepaid cards never can, so the booking is refused at the desk even if it was accepted online. The cash option is the reason our conditions are clear about the deposit amount: it is the same for every car, it is written on the contract, and it comes back to you at return.
What the deposit covers
- The insurance excess of 8,000 MAD in case of damage (comprehensive insurance is included in every rental).
- Missing fuel at return, at pump price.
- Fines received during the rental, with the notice as proof.
Nothing else. If the car comes back as it left, you get the full amount back. The joint check-out sheet with photos, done at delivery and at return, is what protects both sides.
Before you land
- Tell us how you intend to pay (card or cash) when you book on WhatsApp or through the fleet page.
- If you pay in cash, bring the deposit in euros or dirhams. ATMs at the airport dispense dirhams; withdrawal limits vary by bank, so plan ahead.
- If you pay by debit card, check with your bank that foreign payments are allowed and that the limit covers the rental plus the deposit.
