What “car rental without deposit” usually means in Marrakech
A deposit is the amount the agency holds during the rental to cover the insurance excess, fuel, fines or damage. When an agency advertises “no deposit”, the risk has not disappeared; it has moved somewhere else. In practice you will meet one of these situations:
- A higher daily price or a mandatory “full cover” option that costs more over a week than the deposit you would have recovered anyway.
- A very high excess that you pay in full after the smallest scratch, with no cap.
- A cash amount requested at the last minute, at the airport, once you have no other option.
- Older cars with existing damage that is hard to distinguish from new damage at return.
How our deposit works
- Amount: €800, the same for every car.
- When: taken at pick-up, returned at the end of the rental when the car comes back in the same condition and with the same fuel level.
- What it covers: the insurance excess of 8,000 MAD, missing fuel, fines received during the rental.
- Transparency: we check the car together at pick-up and at return and you keep a copy of the check-out sheet with photos, so there is no discussion about pre-existing marks.
