Marrakech to Casablanca by car is about 240 km and takes 2h30 on the A7 motorway, a straight, flat, well-lit motorway with toll booths, rest areas and fuel every 40 km. A one-way rental from Marrakech to Casablanca or its airport, Mohammed V, costs the normal daily rate plus €120 for the return of the car. 1. Leave Marrakech by the route de Casablanca (north) and join the A7 at the toll plaza a few kilometres out of town.
2. The motorway runs flat through the Rehamna plain past Ben Guerir. Radars are frequent; hold 120 km/h.
3. Around Settat the traffic thickens. For Mohammed V Airport, follow the signs for “Aéroport Mohammed V / Nouaceur” and leave the A7 before the city; the airport is about 30 km south of Casablanca.
4. For the city centre, continue to the end of the A7 and follow the ring road towards Casablanca centre or the Corniche. Allow extra time between 8 and 9 am and 17 to 19 h.

The one-way rental, Marrakech to Casablanca

This is the classic itinerary for visitors who land in Marrakech and fly home from Casablanca, or who continue by train to Rabat, Fes or Tangier. It works like this:

1. We deliver the car for free at Marrakech Menara Airport or at your riad, at any hour.
2. You keep it for as many days as you need, at the normal daily rate: from €35 with comprehensive insurance, 200 km per day, free second driver.
3. On the last day, our agent meets you at Mohammed V Airport, at Casa Voyageurs station or at your hotel in Casablanca, checks the car with you and releases the €800 deposit.
4. The return in Casablanca costs €120 per transfer. The same fee applies for Agadir and Essaouira.

Worth a stop

• Ben Guerir: the university campus town, with fuel and cafés just off the motorway.
• Settat: last big town before Casablanca, useful for a lunch stop off the A7.
• Casablanca itself: the Hassan II mosque (guided visits), the Corniche, the Habous quarter. Parking is easier near the mosque and along the Corniche than downtown.
